Meet Dr. McCarty

As a board-certified OB/GYN, Dr. Emily McCarty has had the privilege of providing women’s healthcare for over ten years. In 2014, her love for the mountains and a desire to be close to family brought her to the Roaring Fork Valley. It has been an honor for her to take on a leadership role as Women’s Health at Valley View Hospital’s Medical Director of OB/GYN. Dr. McCarty believes that this valley is a special place, and she wants our families to enjoy a special birth experience in our care.

Skills and Specialties

Dr. McCarty enjoys seeing women through all phases of their lives and specializes in laparoscopic surgery and minimally invasive hysterectomy procedures. At Women’s Health at Valley View, Dr. McCarty and our team provide an array of choices to help each woman experience the kind of pregnancy, labor, and delivery they desire. From low-intervention to high-risk births, Dr. McCarty has experience in helping every woman feel safe and comfortable in their choices through a hybrid care model. She also performs several other gynecological and women’s health services for our patients, including contraceptive counseling, genetic testing, well-woman exams, and endometriosis treatment.

Education and Training

Dr. McCarty completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Maryland. She has since become board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
